iWith four months to go until it is expected to air, speculation is rife surrounding the expected line-up for this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get me out of Here.
Last year’s series of the ITV reality competition saw the likes of Sam Thompson, Fred Sirieix, Tony Bellew and Nigel Farage enter the Australian jungle.
Made in Chelsea star Sam, 31, emerged as the King of the Jungle, putting to bed the 23rd series of the show, which has been on air since December 2023.
With the next series airing in November 2024, this year’s batch of celebrities will be in in talks with ITV, signing the dotted line, and packing their bags for the jungle.
Potential contestants include the usual range of reality TV stars, soap actors and politicians. Well, following July 4’s complete Tory wipeout, there’ll be a lot of out-of-work MPs looking to make a quick buck and save face.
Here’s Metro.co.uk’s run-down of potential I’m A Celebrity 2024 campmates.
She’s rumoured to have split with long-term partner Sam Thompson, who won last year’s I’m A Celebrity – but could she appear in the jungle herself?
The Made In Chelsea star and former Strictly contestant, 27, has previously addressed the possibility of taking to the jungle, saying: ‘Who knows, you never know what’s going to happen,’ she said during an interview on Radio 2.
‘I don’t know if I could follow his crowning. How could I ever follow that?’ she admitted, talking about Sam’s win.
Coronation Street icon Helen Worth, 73, is going to have a lot of time on her hands soon, with her exit as Gail Platt imminent.
After five decades as a Weatherfield resident, bookmakers have been calculating the odds of Helen’s next move – suggesting that a stint on either Strictly or I’m a Celeb is in the actress’s future.
The Sun have reported that the odds of her jetting off to Australia are at 10/1, with Strictly and Celebrity Big Brother also being considered.
Baby Reindeer creator and star Richard Gadd, 35, has been tipped to make the move into reality TV, with OLBH reporting odds of 6/1 of an appearance on this year’s I’m A Celebrity or Strictly.
However, an expert has warned against Richard taking to the jungle, saying: ‘Gadd and Netflix are now mired in legal red tape over Baby Reindeer and its depiction of being a true story.
‘I’m a Celebrity always involves controversial, off-the-cuff remarks and no matter how much he tries, Gadd won’t be able to dodge questions from his celebrity jungle-mates,’ Andy Barr, co-founder and head of digital PR agency 10 Yetis told Metro.co.uk.
Strictly pro Giovanni Pernice, 33, has had a tough year since the controversy of 2023’s Strictly. Crashing out of the competition following partner Amanda Abbington decided to pull out, he suddenly found himself facing a PR storm amid claims of a Strictly feud and accusations of bullying.
If reports are to be believed, ITV are determined to score Giovanni for this year’s I’m A Celeb.
A source told The Sun: ‘Giovanni would be prefect for the jungle. ITV bosses have wanted him for years and now he is finally free. Everyone is really eager to get him on board – he really would be ideal for those jungle showers.’
Rumours have been spiralling that the disgraced This Morning Presenter, 62, is planning his TV comeback.
Suggestions that Phillip could appear in this year’s I’m A Celebrity emerged as he was seen laughing and joking while out for dinner with host Dec Donnelly earlier this year.
A source told OK! of Phillip’s potential plans, saying: ‘Phillip is not the same since being away from TV. It’s what he’s done all his life and all he’s ever wanted to do. There is talk that Ant and Dec are keen to get him on I’m A Celeb.’
This election night’s bloodbath saw 11 former cabinet members lose their seats, including Jacob Rees-Mogg, former Prime Minister Liz Truss and future leadership contender Penny Mordaunt.
Given the success of both Nigel Farage and Matt Hancock on the show – not to mention the attention-grabbing headlines it scored for ITV – many now-displaced politicians may be making a beeline for the jungle.
Among these names is Suella Braverman, who somehow managed to keep her seat, but was already rumoured to be eyeing a move to Australia as early as March this year. Makes a change from looking up flights to Rwanda, at least.
Good Morning Britain weatherman Alex Beresford was a rumoured name for last year’s jungle line up, before appearing on the BBC’s Celebrity Race Across the World instead.
However, he has expressed an interest in heading into camp, telling The Mirror: ‘Out of all the shows I would love to do, I would love to do the jungle.’
Will Alex get his wish this year?

iMade in Chelsea star Sam Thompson was completely unrecognisable as he transformed into an old man.
Sam may only be 31 years old, but with the help of prosthetics, he was able to completely transform his youthful look into that of an elderly man.
The reality star complemented his makeover with old man attire, complete with a cardigan and walking cane, then wandered around London.
In costume, Sam asked people for directions and chatted to members of the public who had no idea it was him underneath all of the makeup.
This transformation was all part of a promotion of Despicable Me 4 and part of Sam’s evening show at Hits Radio, as revealed by a video shared by the station.
‘Now if you were listening to my show on Tuesday night, you’ll know that just like Gru from Despicable Me 4, I’m going into hiding!’ said the former I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here winner in the clip.
The video posted by the radio show then showed a timelapse video of heavy makeup being applied to the presenter.
The prosthetic stunt was completed when Sam’s fellow radio presenter, Joe Swash was tasked with finding him in the London crowds. Despite the disguise, Joe managed to find the presenter – eventually.
Prosthetic artists Shaun Harrison and Paula Anne Booker-Harrison created the mask in seven days and shared the creation of this mask on social media.
The caption from the artists read: ‘We had such a wonderful day over in Liverpool yesterday working with @hitsradiouk and the wonderful @samthompsonuk.
‘The brief was to make Sam into an old man disguise makeup. We had 7 days to complete this character. @paula_anne_booker and myself made this makeup.
‘It’s was all for the launch of @universalpicturesuk release of @despicableme 4. @joeswash we lifecasted Sam over at Hits radio in London, and made all the pieces at our workshop. A really fun job to do. All materials we got from the wonderful @neillsmaterials.@theprostheticsstudio.’
Fans were impressed by this transformation and took to social media to compliment the presenter.
‘Brilliant! Sam’s disguise was so good. I would have known his voice though! 🤣🤣🥰,’ said Lisakatebaker.
‘Absolutely Fabulous, love Sam, so good,’ said Pamelaphillipso.

Princess Anne’s son-in-law went on the show, but Sarah Ferguson will not be following suit (Picture: JUSTIN TALLIS/AFP via Getty Images) Princess Anne’s son-in-law, Mike Tindall, may have appeared on the popular show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, but it seems one […]
iPrincess Anne’s son-in-law, Mike Tindall, may have appeared on the popular show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, but it seems one major royal refuses to follow in his footsteps.
Sarah Ferguson, 64, has revealed despite being asked ‘hundreds of times’ there is no chance she will venture into the wild to participate in the hit show, stating it’s ‘not for me’.
Sarah, who has daughters Princess Eugenie, 34, and Princess Beatrice, 35, with her ex-husband Prince Andrew, 64, is no stranger to television.
In addition to her life as a royal, she has also held a career in film and TV including stepping into producer roles, voice acting and presenting.
While her career has resulted in some impressive roles, such as producing the 2009 Emily Blunt-fronted film The Young Victoria, co-founding the independent production house Vestapol Films, and launching her own podcast, she has admitted reality TV isn’t for her.
In a recent interview, the royal said ITV has reached out to her multiple times to participate in the show in which celebrities are placed in the jungle and must participate in challenges in order to win.
‘I’ve been asked to go on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! hundreds of times, and the answer is always no. I’m sure it’s lovely for lots of people but not for me!’ she told Platinum Magazine, which goes on sale today.
Even though Sarah says I’m A Celebrity isn’t her cup of tea, she isn’t closing the door on the world of television completely and said she has been chasing an appearance in a different TV show.
Speaking to the outlet, Sarah admitted, ‘I’ve asked my agent to get me on Bridgerton! The set designs are incredible!’
The Duchess of York is so keen for a role in the show that she even has a storyline planned out, ‘I could be a long-lost friend for Penelope (Featherington – played by Nicola Coughlan.) I just have to be on Bridgerton!’ She said.
It’s been a tough year for Sarah, who was diagnosed with breast cancer last summer and later had a mastectomy to address it.
During later reconstructive surgery, she had several moles taken off and tested, and one was confirmed to contain cancer cells.
The last official update on her health came in January when a spokesperson said she was still ‘undergoing further investigations to ensure that this has been caught in the early stages.’
It comes after she shared her public support for King Charles, 75, and Catherine, Princess of Wales, 42, admitting she is ‘so proud’ they have opened up about their battles with cancer.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour continues in the UK – but Gillian McKeith’s bid to get the most coveted tickets in town appears to have ended in disaster.
The American superstar, 34, has packed out stadiums across the country in recent weeks and the former TV nutritionist desperately wanted a piece of the action.
However, after Gillian believed she’d secured a pair of tickets for one of Taylor’s shows at Wembley – the June 22 date – it turned out the exact opposite had sadly occurred.
After handing over hundreds of pounds, it turned out the person she’d paid had never had tickets in the first place, leaving Gillian, 64, significantly out of pocket.
Sharing the news on social media alongside her daughter Afton, 24, Gillian had strong words for the person who ‘scammed’ her out of the precious tickets.
‘I just want to say we have a problem – we got scammed,’ she began, with the pair sitting in the back of a cab having attended a lavish do in the centre of London.
‘We had thought that we bought Taylor Swift tickets and it turned out the person was lying about having the tickets and just took our money,’ she continued.
Gillian then informed her fans that the person who claimed to have the tickets had been avoiding them: ‘And there’s been one excuse after another and they get more fantastic as each day goes on, the excuses.’
Afton then added that she was ‘devastated’ about not being able to go, with the person who scammed them apparently known to the mother-daughter pair.
‘We thought we had tickets, turns out it was all a facade and a lie just to take our money. Someone we actually knew,’ she said into the camera.
The pair then pleaded with their followers to help them secure tickets for later Wembley dates, but it’s not yet known how well that campaign is going.
Taylor’s tour is currently the subject of controversy after Foo Fighters frontman and songwriter Dave Grohl took a swipe at the Love Story singer while on stage in London.
He said: ‘I know we were joking about the Taylor Swift tour earlier, I know that she’s on her Eras Tour. I’m telling you – you don’t want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift.
‘So we like to call our tour the Errors Tour because I feel like we’ve had more than a few eras and more than a few f*****g errors as well. That’s because we actually play live.’
Taylor is believed to have responded to Dave’s comment almost immediately, thanking her ‘live band’ the following night during the last of her Wembley shows until August.
Swiftie superfan Gillian rose to fame in the 2000s as the host of You Are What You Eat and was a regular guest on reality food health series Supersize vs Superskinny.
After appearing on numerous reality series of the era, Gillian became one of the biggest names in the health food industry via her work on TV.
She controversially competed in the 2010 series of I’m A Celebrity, famously fainting on live TV after being nominated for yet another bushtucker trial.
Gillian became only the second contestant in the show’s 10-year history (at the time) to refuse to take part in a trial, forcing ITV to refund all those who had voted for her.

What do you think has made the top 10 list? (Picture: Rex/ITV/Reuters/GB News/TalkTV) The most complained about TV moments of all time have been revealed… and the list includes Good Morning Britain, Celebrity Big Brother and Britain’s Got Talent. Every fortnight, media watchdog Ofcom publishes […]
iThe most complained about TV moments of all time have been revealed… and the list includes Good Morning Britain, Celebrity Big Brother and Britain’s Got Talent.
Every fortnight, media watchdog Ofcom publishes a breakdown of the latest complaints it has received from viewers about various TV shows, with all complaints assessed against the Broadcasting Code to determine if an investigation is warranted.
In 2023, the organisation received just under 70,000 complaints in total, following 36,500 the previous year, and 173,000 in 2021.
Now, Ofcom has published the 500th edition of its Broadcast Bulletin – and to mark the milestone, they’ve revealed which programmes have received the most complaints since its inception in 2003.
At the very top of the list as the most-complained about TV moment is Good Morning Britain, clocking up 54,595 complaints for the episode that aired on March 8 2021, when there was a discussion about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey.
At the time, former GMB host Piers Morgan sparked huge backlash for saying that he ‘didn’t believe’ Meghan’s claim that she suffered from suicidal thoughts.
However, Ofcom didn’t find that the programme broke broadcasting rules, adding: ‘We reminded ITV of the need to take greater care around content discussing mental health and suicide in future.’
In second place is an episode of Celebrity Big Brother which aired in 2007, which garnered more than 45,000 complaints that ‘centred on the alleged bullying of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty by fellow contestants Jade Goody, model Danielle Lloyd and singer Jo O’Meara’.
Ofcom stated: ‘Channel Four was found in breach of the Broadcasting Code and was directed to broadcast a summary of Ofcom’s finding on three separate occasions.’
More than a decade later, the celebrity spin-off of the reality show faced a horde of complaints yet again for the third-most complaints ever, this time accumulating over 25,000 ‘concerning an allegation from a housemate, Roxanne Pallett, that fellow housemate Ryan Thomas had deliberately and repeatedly physically assaulted her’.
The watchdog said that while this moment ‘did not break broadcasting rules’, it was ‘clearly a very sensitive issue, which many viewers felt strongly about’.
‘On balance, we considered the majority of regular viewers would expect there to be an extended focus on this issue, and we also took into account the broadcaster’s repeated warnings to viewers,’ they said.
In fourth place comes a historic moment that happened on Britain’s Got Talent four years ago, when Diversity performed a Black Lives Matter-themed routine on the programme, which sparked 25,000 complaints.
At the time, Ofcom outlined in its response: ‘Our assessment is that this programme did not raise any issues which warranted investigation. In our view, Diversity’s performance was an artistic expression of topical social issues and did not contain any content which was racist, unsuitably violent or otherwise inappropriate in the context of this programme.’
Diversity dancer Ashley Banjo said: ‘We stand by every single decision we made with that performance,’ while a BGT spokesperson stated that the dance ‘offered their take on the extraordinary events of 2020 opening up important topics of conversation’.
In the fifth spot is the 24,000 complaints that were recorded over ‘Faye’s behaviour towards Teddy’ on Love Island in 2021, which the watchdog determined ‘did not raise issues under our rules’. In a statement, Love Island said that it takes ‘the emotional wellbeing of all the islanders extremely seriously’.
After that in sixth place, in January this year, Julia Hartley-Brewer’s interview with Palestinian politician Dr Mustafa Barghouti on TalkTV resulted in more than 17,000 complaints.
While Ofcom decided that the exchange ‘did not raise issues under our rules’, the organisation instructed the channel ‘to take extra care to ensure potentially offensive comments are justified’.
In the seventh spot is ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, which received more than 11,000 complaints in December 2020 regarding the ‘welfare of animals used in trials’, with the complaints received following the launch of a petition by the RSPCA.
According to Ofcom, this complaint ‘did not raise issues under our rules’, while an ITV spokesperson said in November that year: ‘I’m A Celebrity complies with animal welfare law concerning the use of animals and we are proud of our exemplary production practices.
‘We have a long working relationship with the RSPCA in New South Wales, Australia and as such contacted their counterparts some months ago when we knew that the programme would be made in the UK, with a view to working collaboratively with them.’
In September 2023, the GB News programme Dan Wootton Tonight received close to 9,000 complaints – the eight-most of all time – regarding ‘misogynistic comments made by Laurence Fox about journalist Ava Evans’, which was found to have breached Ofcom rules.
Wootton and Fox were both suspended by GB News, with the former saying in an apology at the time: ‘I want to reiterate my regret over last night’s exchange with Laurence on GB News.’
He added: ‘I apologise unreservedly for what was a very unfortunate lapse in judgement on my part under the intense pressure of a bizarre exchange.’
In March 2024, it was confirmed that Wootton was ‘no longer employed by GB News’, as the channel said: ‘We thank him for his contribution and wish him well with his future endeavours’, while in October 2023, a statement was released by the broadcaster confirming that it had ‘ended its employment relationship’ with Fox.
In the ninth spot on the list, the BBC Two programme Jerry Springer the Opera received 8,800 complaints in 2005, due to its ‘representation of the Christian community’, but Ofcom concluded that ‘this did not break broadcasting rules’.
Then finally in 10th place, looking back to the King’s Coronation coverage on ITV last May, 8,400 complaints were logged by Ofcom following comments that Bridgerton star Adjoa Andoh made about the royal family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, when she said: ‘There is a bit of me that we’ve gone from the rich diversity of the Abbey to a terribly white balcony. I was very struck by that.’
At the time, Ofcom wrote in a statement: ‘While we understand some viewers had strong feelings about this comment, after careful consideration we have concluded that the comment was a personal observation which was part of a wide-ranging panel discussion which also touched on other diversity-related topics, and which contained a range of viewpoints.’
Adjoa later appeared on BBC Radio 4, explaining her remarks as she said on the radio programme: ‘I think I upset a few people yesterday, I was talking about the day and how marvellous it was and then looking at the balcony at the end.
‘And I suddenly went “ooh, it’s so white” – because the day had been so so mixed. I didn’t mean to upset anybody.’

iTV star Joel Dommett and his wife, Hannah Cooper, welcomed their first child, Wilde, in 2023. Now, the comedian is opening up about the stress of being a new dad and how it has changed his relationship with his wife.
Joel, 39, is a man of many talents. In addition to starring in television shows like Skins and Casualty, he is also a comedian and became an overnight sensation on the 2016 season of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
But The Masked Singer presenter’s latest role as a father has put his patience, drive and emotions to the test.
Having welcomed his son, Wilde, with his wife, Hannah, 34, in September, the new Dad is celebrating his first ever Father’s Day today and sat down for an interview revealing how he has enjoyed life as a dad so far.
‘It really is like a rollercoaster in the way that when you’re going up, you’re so stressed, and then it gets to the top and then it goes over, and you’re like “this is the most fun I’ve ever had in my entire life and I love it so much,”‘ he said in an interview with The Sun.
The TV personality continued to say at the end of each day that he is ‘knackered’ but added: ‘I honestly, really, really love it’, even when his son vomits in Dommett’s mouth or has a nappy disaster.
Joel went on to say that while his nine-month-old son is sleeping ‘okay’ now compared to when he was first born, there are still days where he and Hannah struggle with sleep deprivation, and it has possibly contributed to the star’s public breakdowns.
‘I’ve become much more emotional. I keep just randomly crying in Sainsbury’s. I don’t know whether that’s because I’m sleep-deprived,’ he told the news outlet.
Admitting that being a parent’ changes’ relationships in the sense that you become ‘a bit aggy’ toward one another, he added: ‘I always try to tell myself it’s the sleep deprivation. It’s not the fact that I hate my wife.
‘And you remember that, and then you have a little sleep, and then you’re like, “Oh yeah, I actually really love her. I forgot about that, I just needed a crisp seven hours.”‘
The star also said that since becoming a father, he not only has a reason to work but also a reason to come home: ‘I just love my little family and our little gang that we have.’
Joel and Hannah, who wed in 2019, announced the birth of their son on Instagram last year. As well as revealing his name, they also revealed his sex after keeping it a secret during Cooper’s pregnancy.
Alongside a photo of Wilde’s feet, the couple wrote: ‘Wilde Cooper-Dommett. Pinterest perfect baby feet that are already bigger than his Dad’s.’
Many fans and friends of the couple took to the comment section to share their excitement, including Jess Wright, who wrote, ‘Congratulations guys’, and TV doctor Dr Ranj Singh, who said, ‘Congrats, you beautiful bunch’.

iI’m A Celebrity South Africa won’t be returning for a second series despite being a ratings success.
The special spin-off saw favourite celebrities from the main ITV show, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here, heading to South Africa to compete in an all-stars version, with hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly at the helm.
Myleene Klass was eventually crowned the ultimate ‘legend’ after beating campmates including Helen Flanagan, Joe Swash and Jordan Banjo.
While the episodes in the traditional annual show filmed in Australia are live and show highlights from the past 24 hours, the spin-off was pre-recorded.
This meant that instead of the public voting for who leaves, and choosing the person who eventually wins, it was all determined by trials.
In the final face-off between Myleene and Jordan, they had to tackle a disgusting eating trial. Some of the stomach-churning items included fermented eggs, pig snouts, chicken intestines, mice tails and stinky tofu.
Last year, fans of I’m A Celebrity got two series of the popular show, that began in 2002, but it has now been confirmed it was a one-off to mark a special anniversary after it was originally reported by The Sun.
An ITV spokesperson told Metro.co.uk: ‘I’m A Celebrity… South Africa was commissioned to air in 2023 to celebrate favourite campmates from the past 20 years as they returned to the jungle.
‘The series was one of the biggest Entertainment shows of the year averaging 5.2million across its consecutive weeknight run and reaching over 1 million 16-34s for the launch episode.
‘It was never planned for the series to return again this year.’
This means we’ll have to wait until November to tune into the 24th series and see who Sam Thompson will be passing his floral crown to, but perhaps their use of ‘this year’ spells hope it could possibly back in the future.
Ant and Dec, both 48, previously hinted that it could return during an Instagram live. When one fan asked if Ferne McCann could do I’m A Celebrity, Ant replied: ‘Ferne’s already done it, she’s already done it! But she could do South Africa when we do that. We could have her on that.
‘We must do a little South Africa list.’
After winning the show filmed in Kruger National Park, Myleene, 46, donated the full £100,000 prize money to Save The Children UK.
‘I’ve seen for myself, this money will go far. The mouse tails and rotten tofu were worth it,’ she remarked.
The full line-up also included Carol Vorderman, Paul Burrell, Dean Gaffney, Janice Dickinson, Andy Whyment, Georgia Toffolo, Amir Khan, Gillian McKeith and Shaun Ryder.
